As our activities develop and our area of activity expands we are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable and creative people to help us continue to develop and deliver our work with local communities to improve their prospects and environment.

As a Community and Business Energy Advisor you will deliver on-site and distance support to local community organisations and community energy groups with energy efficiency advice and grant applications and supporting the local authority with their power purchase agreement programme. You will also deliver on-site and distance support to businesses through the Carbon Charter project, undertake environmental audits and reviews, carbon footprinting and the development of sustainability and carbon management strategies. We are willing to be flexible and look at both Full Time and Part Time applications for this role.

Job Requirements:

Person Specification:

Qualifications
  • A valid driving licence
  • Degree, post grad or professional environmental management qualification
Experience
  • Proven track record in delivering environmental improvements through resource efficiency
  • Proven track record of supporting organisations to reduce carbon, waste and water
  • Budgets and finance management
  • Maintaining effective monitoring and recording systems
Skills
  • Effective communication and social skills – presentations / listening / writing
  • Effective time management, ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiatives and as part of a team
  • Tact and diplomacy
  • Good knowledge of IT, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Clear and concise report and letter writing ability
Knowledge
  • Understanding and interest in current work and environmental issues
  • Current and impending environmental legislation
  • Pressures facing organisations and businesses including environmental
  • Environmental funding opportunities
  • Equal Opportunities
  • Specific environmental technology e.g. renewable energies, building insulation etc
  • Financial awareness in relation to project management
